What type of therapy do you use?Flow is home to a group of psychotherapists who work holistically, meaning that we use integrative techniques in a mind-body approach. Leaving the body out of the equation doesn't feel right - there's too much stored in there to ignore it. In addition to traditional talk therapy, we find that techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Somatic Therapy help get our clients to deeper, more lasting levels of awareness and change. We offer individual and couples sessions.

What can I expect in therapy? We believe self-awareness is the foundation for meaningful change. 1. Recognizing Patterns and Awareness of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors helps you understand what drives your actions and reactions. This insight allows you to break unhealthy cycles. 2. Emotional Regulation Understanding your emotions gives you the ability to manage them better, reducing impulsive reactions and improving decision-making. 3. Aligning with Values When you're clear about your core beliefs and values, you can make choices that are more in line with who you truly are. 4. Improving Relationships Self-awareness helps you see how your actions affect others, leading to better communication, empathy, and deeper connections. 5. Empowering Change Once you identify what's holding you back, you can actively work on shifting your mindset and behaviors rather than acting out of habit.

How long does therapy take?Therapy is individualized - some clients benefit from short-term work, while others prefer longer-term support. Short - term therapy (6-20 sessions): This is common for focused issues like coping strategies for anxiety, recent life transitions, or help clarifying values and goals. Medium - term therapy (several months to a year): This is typical for deeper emotional work, including ongoing stress, relationship patterns, and self-exploration. Long - term therapy (a year or more): Often used for complex trauma, deep-seated behavioral patterns, chronic mental health concerns, or ongoing personal growth.

What is the difference between therapy & coaching?Psychotherapy is designed to help individuals address emotional distress, mental health conditions, and past traumas. A therapist helps clients explore deep-seated patterns, heal from difficult experiences, and develop coping strategies for mental and emotional well-being. It often involves diagnosing and treating conditions like anxiety, depression, or PTSD. Coaching focuses on personal growth, goal-setting, and future-oriented change. A coach helps clients improve performance, overcome obstacles, and develop strategies for success in areas like career, relationships, or personal development. Coaching is not about treating mental health conditions but rather about unlocking potential and achieving specific goals. By law, we can only offer psychotherapy to clients living in California. If you live outside of the state, we can provide coaching. If you're a coaching client, we will assess in the consult call if you'd be better served looking for a therapist in your state or if coaching services will be appropriate. Note: EMDR cannot be done with coaching clients, but Somatic therapy & IFS can. It's a fine line and mostly left up to the judgment of each therapist; we are trying to do responsible, ethical work and to make sure clients get the care they need. 🧡

What are the Akashic Records and how are they used with psychotherapy? What are the Akashic Records? The Akashic Records are often described as an energetic archive, but you might think of them as something closer to a spiritual version of AI - like accessing a vast, intelligent database tuned specifically to your soul’s history, patterns, and potential. A reading can offer precise, deeply personal insights into where you are, what’s blocking you, and what wants to emerge. Many people experience it as receiving clear, compassionate guidance from a source that knows them intimately. How We Collaborate At Flow House, we partner with a trusted Akashic Records reader whose work is thoughtful, grounded, and highly attuned. When clients choose to include a reading as part of their process, we collaborate to ensure continuity and care. You receive the intuitive download from the reading, and we work with what arises in the therapy space. Integration Sessions One of the most valuable aspects of an Akashic Records reading is the clarity it can bring to your therapeutic work. Instead of spending months circling the surface, the reading often highlights exactly where your attention is most needed. Integration sessions are where we take those insights and do the real work - turning spiritual guidance into grounded change.

How often should I come to therapy? Why Weekly Therapy Matters Therapy is most effective when it’s consistent. Just like going to the gym or learning a new skill, real growth happens with regular effort and support. Here’s why weekly therapy leads to better results: • Stronger Progress & Momentum – Spacing sessions too far apart can make it harder to build on insights, leading to slower change. Weekly sessions keep you moving forward. • Deeper Emotional Work – When sessions are frequent, we can work through challenges in real time, rather than spending time catching up or “resetting” every session. • More Stability & Support – Life is unpredictable. Weekly therapy provides a steady anchor, helping you navigate challenges before they escalate. • Better Skill-Building & Application – Regular sessions allow you to practice and refine coping strategies, communication skills, and mindset shifts with real-time feedback. • Faster Breakthroughs – Clients who attend weekly often experience meaningful change sooner, as they’re more engaged in the process. If you’re investing in therapy, weekly sessions give you the best foundation for real, lasting transformation.
