"The lives of women will not change until men also get the chance to examine and change their lives.
We have done significant work over the last 40 years to help women find their power and their voice. But it needs to be matched by helping men to share their hearts and their vulnerability.
It is our responsibility as a society to stop stripping boys of their emotionality. We touch our boys less than we touch our girls. We strip them of their connectivity and their need for others so that we can instead install a performance-based masculinity around fearlessness, competitiveness, and self-reliance.
It’s not men’s time to be quiet, to listen, to shut up. No, this is their time to finally have the right to have conversations about themselves, about masculinity, about the making of manhood so that we can create a more true equality."
